A customer of mine had a money clip. It was so astoundingly beautiful I asked for a closer look and he told me all about it. Clint Orms, he said.
I went to the website and Cartier is less expensive. You Texas oil men need to slow your roll. I'm looking at you, JimVH.

Beautiful! A couple of years ago We went to Santa Fe and I bought Penny a Bracelet from a kid/vender who told me his grandfather was the smith. He provided a card with the purchase. He does some engraving, but mostly smooth or "Hammered" finish. I have since purchased 2 more items from him via phone and e-mail. Both times, he sent me a couple of items and told me keep what I or Penny liked and then return the rest, with payment....I have never met this man and don't know why he opted to trust me in this way...
While not nearly as expensive as the Clint Orms, this guy's jewelry isn't cheap either. Penny loves having the choice of a couple of different designs/sizes in the comfort of home and with out the rush of "The Square" in Santa Fe.

You have a good eye. I'm very familiar. I've wanted an Orms buckle set for a long time, but the ones that appeal to me are usually north of $5k. Not a bargain for wannabe Texas barons like me. His vintage stuff draws a handsome price, too.
Truth be told, I don't think I could spend it even if I had stupid money laying around. Now, if one of my wealthy pipe buds were so motivated, we are entering the gift giving season. Just a thought.

That's the buckle. I almost pooed. So I looked at the money clips and did poo a little. Hermès looks like a deal in comparison, lol.JimVH wrote: ↑04 Nov 2024, 09:01 You have a good eye. Never, ever, unless I loot the corpse of Diamond Jim. But it's gorgeous work.
