Looks like I might get to see it from the inside. Don’t remember being in the eye since Alicia in the early 80s.

I’m the blue dot. We’re in good shape, so far. Had a dead pine limb come down earlier and ding up one of my gutters. We can talk about my utter contempt for pine trees as residential landscape in another thread another time.
Yeah, good luck and a prayer your way. We're on the upside of this one, but so far so good.
A screen grab from NWS just a minute ago. Looks like it'll be raining all day. But you should be having a good view about now, Jim.

I'm on the outer edge of that storm cell. Only an inch of rain and heavy winds. Houston got hit hard. Praying for you Jim.

We took a fairly hard hit. Been without power since this morning. They’re saying it could be a couple of days. Although my daughter’s neighborhood is already back online and they’re usually one of the last. I’ve got some minor damage to my truck. The house took some cosmetic damage, but everybody is safe and we have generators running keeping Rita comfortable and my computer charged.

I love what happens to the people in my neighborhood when things like this happen. Our entire cul-de-sac street is already cleaned up. People grabbed their blowers, brooms, and chainsaws and started at one end of the street and didn’t quit till they got to the other. Four or five people helped me clean up downed tree limbs andother debris. They helped me get a big lamb off the roof and that got tangled up and our gutters and my truck. People were sharing generators, air conditioners, gas, oil… you name it. Neighbors kept shooing me back into the house to check on Rita until I finally just rolled her out into the driveway to watch.

It’s too bad we often forget to act this way the rest of the time.

Sounds pretty bad but I am thankful you've got good folk to surround you. Like atheists in foxholes, people tend to step up and remember their humanity in a crisis and I'm just grateful your neighbors are good folk. Pretty doggone sure I'm the only guy in my neighborhood to even own a chainsaw....

Better than a goat, I suppose.
I am not as cool as JimVH. Nor or you. Well, unless you ARE JimVH.
