Finished up Weekend before last...had to pay to the Feds, but got a refund from the State...the refund hit the account last Thursday. I am normally more like first part of March...just lazy this year I guess.

I live a half hour from Boulder CO so I've had a front row seat to the Prime Time Circus that is CU football. My brother was an adjunct professor there when Prime (that's what even his bosses at CU call him) came to town and he told me the place was abuzz from top to bottom. I said they'd get tired of it. Not the students of course but the older folk would soon find it offensive that Sanders was going to turn the whole thing on it's head with the way he'd run his program. The NIL and the portal and the whole deal is sort of distasteful to old white guys, and old white guys are who funds college athletics in CO. So yeah, the shine is wearing off around town and around campus. Besides Hunter winning the Heisman (which is a big deal), the program hasn't won anything yet. And if you aint winnin' you aint worth the distraction.

My BIL is an on-field official for Big 12 football. During pregame on-field warm up players are supposed to have their number visible so if they "do something" the officials can identify them. Sure enough Shedeur is out for the pregame with no number on. My BIL and another official went to him and told him to fall in line. Sanders said, "Aw man, I aint gotta do that bullsh*7" and walked away. So yeah, I can see why his entitled attitude rubbed a lot of teams the wrong way. To be cocky and confident is almost required to play sports at the top level, but if you aren't head and shoulders above your competition you better at least be respectful of the guy who signs your checks. There's an unofficial saying in the NFL - "The bigger the talent, the bigger the tolerance." If you're good enough they'll overlook your wife beating and drunk driving. If you're more trouble than you're worth they'll let you walk.
[EDIT] Not to say that Shedeur Sanders has ever raised a hand to a woman and I've never heard of any illegal activities. It's just that he and his posse and hangers-on will bring distraction to the team and the city where he plays so if he's not good enough to be a starter he's not worth the trouble.
