FredS Prince Pipes...very very nice!FredS wrote: 02 Jun 2022, 16:23 Here's a pack of princes I made a while back. They still needed polished and stem bending. Uncle Bob's wife bought him one of the bottom two, I don't remember which. Those two are yuge for this shape. A couple others may have gone to CPS'ers too. The one second from bottom has a large band of swirly white bakelite that will turn to that creamy yellow color seen at the bottom of the picture. I have an set of old steak knives with what I thought was yellow handles, but when I cut into them I was surprised to find them white.

It's a bit more delicate than an apple shape.
I have a Dunhill Prince from the mid-1980s. Straight stem, which is not aligned with the traditional Prince stem of 1/4 or less of bend.
I also have a SlowToke Prince that some notable pipe makers have said it is the Plutonic Prince shape.
Is this bragging? Feels like bragging.
OK. So. Like.
I'm totally bragging.

Hmmm.... talk about pipe shapes here, or go to the "interesting" discussions about Apple Music.Biff wrote: 10 May 2022, 12:11 I thought this was going to be about The Artist Formerly Known as... and a monolithic corporation. This is much more boring.
I'll stay here.

I've got three apples in the stable---two bents and a straight, all Petes.
I like how the apples fit in my palm of my hands.

Prince vs Apple

In my mind:
- The prince has a more squashed bowl than the apple
- It has a cylindrical and fairly narrow shank
- The shank is short, particularly relative to the stem
- The stem is long and has a gentile curve
- The bowl is not 'Murican huge, as this pipe is meant to be clenchable
When pulled off properly, it is a stunning shape. However, it is a shape that is easy to get unbalanced.

I am not as cool as JimVH. Nor or you. Well, unless you ARE JimVH.
