TOOLS...Make that pipe tools,what do you use?

Whatever's handy. Usually, it's a generic pipe nail, but I have several tampers from CPS members that are sentimental favs and get used often. I'm not above picking-up a screw or nail in the garage to use.

I use one of those t-handled reamers for that kind of work.

I have a t-handled reamer on the way...see if it holds up better than the little metal one I had.

I read that these t-handle reamers can be too agressive and crack bowls, or that the handle can break...I can't see going at it all at once, ream some and then move up in size if needed...slow and gentle

Well The reamer arrived. I have a large Teipen Lumberman that I smoke alot. It is in bad need of a reaming...so tonight when it cools off, It is gonna get taken care of along with a couple others, a Stanwell 11 and a Turner Lovat and a Savinelli Canadian.

Some of these pipes haven't ever been reamed...

I find the process to be very soothing. Just don't wear a white shirt

I just use a old piece of rusty rebar to take care of biz, if that don't work, I use a piece of rock I found by the side of the road.

I reamed 7 pipes this morning. I need to wash them out...that dust gets everywhere...but I am liking the T-Handle reamer. The neighborhood dogs don't like the high pitched squeal that the reamer makes as it is being turned.

I added a 1/4" flat head stainless steel machine screw to my Zippo. An old fashioned square nut fits inside the case. A brass tube is the spacer that lets you tighten it.

No fumbling for a seperate tool.
