I joined Audible on June 1, 2023. I was spending a lot of time alone in the car, working in an empty office building, and waiting in the hospital with Rita, and used audio books to fill the silence. In the year since joining I've listened to over 27 days (654 hours+) of recorded books. That's 1.8 hours a day.

I went for a walk today. Now my socks are wet.

Been a while since I've ridden my bicycle because of healh reasons. Today I felt good, got on the bike (even though it is 93 degrees and about the same humidity), and rode for 30 minutes. Amazing how fast you lose your comfort on the saddle and strength in your legs.

We watched Beverly Hills Cop this evening.
When I went through the Peace Officer's Academy in the 80's, my instructor/mentor Bob Keller said it was one of the funniest movies he'd seen.
He's right. Eddie Murphy is hilarious.

I’ve had a couple of very nice email exchanges with one of the 70’s biggest TV stars, ever. It’s been a blessing to me even tho I’ve never been one to be star struck.

We got my F-I-L moved from a transitional care hospital into a studio apartment in a very nice, assisted living place.
We had his motorized recliner and big screen tv waiting for him when he arrived.
He had the biggest smile I've seen on him in a long time!

I love Hov, but I also love it when he makes a post and nobody replies to it. Besides Jared swinging by to ask for prayer when he's up to his eyeballs in sh*7, it's the most CPS thing ever.

Clearing out my F-I-L's apartment is painful. Imagine all the stuff one accumulates in 88 years!
This, as well as getting lost in the necropolis of Colma the other day (long story) motivates me to pare down my own earthly impediments and the most sizeable being my library. I'm going through my aviation collection, and I'll deliver it to the local Civil Air Patrol squadron this Wednesday.
Lots of good, classic stuff for the cadets.
