The Dishwasher is working again. The washer and freezer need parts kits, so he'll be back on Thursday to finish.
Now it'll be next week.
Appliance repairman is a pretty good retirement job, if so inclined. If fish are biting, etc, you just tell folks "I'll be there next week", or "I'm waiting on a part". Not that that's happening to you though, Hov.

Speaking of retirement gigs, well, my retirement gig, a couple of years ago someone at a site that I was working at didn't like the fact that I was going strictly by the book, to make a long story short. I simply said "so, fire me." It felt pretty good.

I'm bored. Bare with me - - -

1. Rather than calling Ken Garth Ford as I asked, siri called Ken Stone. Ken is in my contacts, with his picture even, but I have no idea who he is. A few minutes later, he texted to see if I needed him. His tone made it sound like we know each other.

2. Also, a young lady who used to live two doors over is named Siri. "Yep, just like in your phone" she said upon introduction. She and her hubs, Mitch, had a baby last year and they just moved away to a bigger house a couple months ago. Mitch is a fly fisherman but we never got the chance to get out together. Seems like young go-getters have a difficult time finding time for leisure activities.

3. Even old men of leisure have a difficult time planning meet-ups. Bloodhound and I have been trying to plan a fishing trip to a very specific place in a very specific window of time. For 4 or 5 years. We're coming up to that annual window of opportunity and we still haven't nailed anything down.

I texted our oldest daughter early this morning to tell her happy birthday and for her to be watching her front porch for deliveries. She's a nurse and works in labor & delivery, and replied that she was working today, speaking of deliveries ... "bringing babies into the world to share a birthday with me!!!", she said.

We are on the east coast. Dropped off my son at Virginia Tech yesterday for an aerospace engineering camp. Our family car is having transmission problems. May be buying a new car on our trip.

Sorry to hear it, Gary. That's an unexpected surprise we're probably all familiar with.

Update, cannot buy a new car. Seems a hacker has shut down 15,000 dealerships and they're reduced to doing deals on paper (most aren't even doing that).

So, we are borrowing my mother-in-law 's car that is a lot smaller. I bought a rooftop bag carrier that attaches to the car's rails. It'll be tight but we should make it home.

Depending on what the Kia dealership tells me this evening I'll be leaving our car in SC and will send my brother-in-law the title and we'll find someone who buys junk cars.
