The OFG's Pocket Knife

Post about everything from carrying a handkerchief to manly skills (sharpening a pocket knife, etc), to product reviews of items that may have slipped inder our radar (ie Grandpa's Pine Tar soap). No threads on anything 'new' unless it hearkens to old-fashioned sensibilities and ideals.

Wow. $500 that's a LOT! does it make your knives razor sharp?
Sure, a Monkey/Bobby (£500) seems high but those models are aimed at professional sharpening business?
What model did you get?
I’m not certain, it’s been over 10 years.. I'll have to have a gander and get back with ya, lah.

I’ve been cleaning up my dad's old knives. Made me think of this:

It makes me feel.

We decided to head to the hills for a few days and over Christmas. Going into the "Wilds" of the Front Range foothills requires a real "He Man" knife (back me up here Fred). We saw elk and turkeys...I was glad I brought the Schrade LB7. I have had this knife since my 14th birthday...we will not talk about how many years ago that was...This knife came in a Craftsman leather case in a box marked Craftsman, but the knife is marked Schrade LB7 and not "Craftsman" Needless to say I was well served by this old friend!

You're brave. I won't go out there packing anything less than a 10" bowie and a backup in my boot.
