Simple math, there is going to be a 30% devaluation of all wealth, retirement savings, etc. We don't know exactly how the equilibrium will happen -- sustained inflation, unemployment, global recession, another housing market crash, stock market drops 50%... whatever. A few bank failures are the tip of the spear.
