'Tis the Season!

Let's avoid partisan bickering as our nation gathers to Choose the Lesser Jerk.

Here is the thread to share any armchair insights that may enlighten, entertain, or edify the Brotherhood as November approaches.

I opened this thread to share this article from RealClearPolitics.... mainly because it blows up the racism voter narrative.

So What's the Good News for Joe Biden?

========================

tl;dr:

Black and Hispanic voters are abandoning Biden, causing trouble for him in swing states. These demographics will still vote mostly Democrat, but not by the margins that Biden needs for victory.

But there is still a path for him to win.

Working class voters are hard-pressed by inflation, fuel and grocery costs. Black voters are especially worried about the high crime and failing schools in their neighborhoods. Hispanic neighborhoods are most adversely affected by Biden's open border. Plus, neither demographic is keen on Pride Month and L-gibbity ideology, especially in their children's schools.

As a result, Trump's polling lead is increasing in the Southern swing states of Georgia and North Carolina.
And Trump's lead is increasing in the Southwestern swing states of Arizona and Nevada.

However, the polls are very close (and not moving) in the Rust Belt swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. White voters aren't moving much, either way.

If Biden can win these states (and Omaha, as Nebraska splits their electoral votes), then Trump could win the popular vote -- but Biden could squeak through the Electoral College, 270-268.

In order to win, Biden needs to court and pander to those White voters in the Upper Midwest.

I expect him to lean in to telling us how Donald Trump is a Nazi Rrrrracist. That plays well with gullible White voters.

It'll be fun to watch the debate then watch the disconnect as late night 'comics' bash Trump's performance (he's a meanie) while praising Biden's sharp-as-ever rhetorical skills.

Got your popcorn ready?

Less than 24 hours before the BIG SHOW!

=======================================

My predictions:

Biden will be adequate, with just a tolerable number of small screw-ups.

Trump will be moderate and well-behaved, hoping to let Biden hang himself. "You have 30 more seconds, Mr. President. Keep going."

Trump will announce some seemingly impossible new policies, as he did in 2016 when he promised to bring manufacturing jobs back to the Rust Belt states.

I agree with everything except the "It'll be fun" part. Although, there's really no point in watching except for the entertainment factor, for anyone that is entertained by a farce.

“I support Roe v Wade, which had three trimesters. The first time, is between a woman and a doctor. Second time is between a doctor and an extreme situation. A third time is between the doctor, I mean, between the women and the state.” Joe Biden

That was the greatest jaw-dropping line of the whole debate. Classic Joe.

In his defense, nobody else knows what "I defend Roe v. Wade" actually means either. That's why it's such a great line for Democrats.

"I defend Roe v. Wade" is just like "Make the rich pay their fair share." It sounds nice. They don't specify any particular policies. Everybody seems to hear what he wants to hear, without any common sense of meaning.

I am genuinely surprised by the Debate Day aftermath....

A astounding amount of Democrat media are panicking and calling for Joe to be replaced as the Democrat candidate. His most strident supporters are throwing in the towel.

I wouldn't be too surprised if someone high up in the DNC dials 1-800-CLINTON and Joe disappears.
