I will miss Schwan's although I will say their food quality has deteriorated over the past few years and prices skyrocketed; perhaps due to financial stresses. I've grown up ordering and eating Schwan's. I will miss it.

One more company unable to keep up. With the internet. With the pandemic.
We buy our cars online. We stream our movies (hello Netflix, so long Blockbuster). We buy consumer goods online (hello Amazon, so long Circuit City, Kmart, Sears). We order groceries online (so long Schwan's). We arrange taxis online (hello Uber, so long Yellow Cab). We buy our meds online (hello Express Scripts, so long Downtown Drug). We book our business trips and vacations online (hello Expedia, so long Milly's Travel Agency). We stream books online (hello Audio Books, so long library). We buy used crap online (hello Marketplace, so long garage sales).
I used to wonder at the changes my great grandparents lived through. Born before automobiles, airplanes, or television, they watched a man walk on the moon. But the changes they saw pale in comparison to what the internet has done. And we've witnessed it.

But did they? I'm not so sure anymore.
