A quiet day. Grilled strip steak, baked potato,
and corn eaten at the ancestral homestead with my people.

Sitting outside back in the city now, smoking a pipe and praying for you all. It's a vale of tears but I'm thankful.

The lawn man is here. My wife’s usually sweet demeanor immediately darkened. I got up to go pay him and she grabbed the check out of my hand, said “I’ll take care of this”, and marched out the door with great determination. I don’t know what happened (or didn’t) last week, but I pity the fool on the other end of that weed eater.

I’m just grateful it’s not me.
