I'm sort of glad I'm not a famous athlete. Sure, I have the body, and the money would be nice, but the fact that you have to go on TV and announce to the world that you're retiring would be rough. I'll just toil my life away over here in anonymity and quietly slip away when I'm done.

He's from a broken home, mentioning that he never did see his parents in the audience. The fans filled in for the parent he couldn't have.
That would be tough to give up.
