I presume he'll return with his full crew in the morning to pour the new driveway section.
Oops. I was wrong. Turns out he didn't need a crew. He poured and finished it himself.

Keep that overhead down. The guy that did my neighbor's fence recently worked alone. He had jigs and tools to help him the big stuff and made up the difference in hustle. I was impressed.

Hustle is the right word. That dude was fast. I bet it was a $3000 job and he pocketed all but a few hundred for the concrete himself. He earned it.

BTW, I'm amazed that there have been no posts on the pumpkin beer thread. I presume that the brothers Tuttle absence is the reason for this, as well as the lack of a candy corn thread. Or perhaps it's still too early and I'm rushing things. Anyway, who cares.
I’m having trouble thinking fall in triple digit heat :) We were at a local venue last weekend and they are already offering a couple of different Octoberfest brews. I started to order one, but got distracted by the peanut butter stout.
I've been feeling fall in the air for the past couple of weeks. I used to tell my dad this on 100 degree August days, and he'd tell me it was wishful thinking. Still, dove season opens in the central zone this Friday, and teal season opens next Saturday. The local rice fields and marshes, if there's water, are full of teal already. Plus, the Blue super moon of August peaks tonight. Hell, that right there makes me want to find a pumpkin beer somewhere. Btw this reminds me, I need to renew my hunting and fishing license today or tomorrow.
So I just saw FB posts about candy corn, pumpkin spice, and fall beer, all within about a ten minute period. I guess that means fall is really coming.

I wonder about him. Hope he’s doing good.

The Mariposa Fair was excellent. The Indian Fry Bread tacos were even excellentyer. The local beer, 1850 Valor was $4 a cup and did an admirable job of washing down my taco. :D

I typically work remotely - I live in Colorado and my job is in Kansas City. Now I've got myself set up to work really remotely, from the cabin at 8200 ft. The dogs and I are happy about this. Mrs FredS - who'll have to go back to town - is not.

That's the good news.

The bad news is that I'll work 15-20 hours over the three day 'holiday'. No complaints though. I'm still livin' the dream.
