I say leave it alone and drop DST. I know that counting time is arbitrary - we could have just as easily landed on a day that's divided into 30 hours and begins at noon - but we can't go 'round changing it willy nilly a couple times a year. Besides, if you have a dog(s), you don't get that extra hour of sleep anyway.

Crazy times we're living in. I was visiting the online obituaries in my hometown to leave condolences for friends of the fam whose dad recently died and I see this:

Shane Lee W, 55, Lawrence, KS, passed away Tuesday - - -

A memorial service will scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lawrence, KS. - - -

Survivors include his partner, Lyndal D, wife, Michelle W, children, Miles W, Brooke W, cousins, Mona (Leland), Missy, Aunt Sue (Dave), and dear friends Russ and Christine.

Dude had a partner and a wife! He must have been doing something right. Or wrong, I suppose, depending on how one sees such things. I don't know if Lyndal is male or female. The fact that this funeral service is at the Episcopal Church doesn't offer any evidence one way or the other.

(Mrs FredS and I were almost married in that church but the priest was a dick so I dropped out of his premarital program after one session and he kind of insisted that both the bride and the groom had to finish to receive his blessing.)

One of my nieces asked us for a photo of me in uniform for a Veteran's Day project at school.
We couldn't find one.
