I've been picking cucumbers, and one stray pumpkin that was in the compost pile. All tomatoes are still green. All of the peppers are a bust so far, but I'm still watering. The watermelon vines have blooms, and so do the snap beans, so I'm still hoping. Grape vines have fruit, as well as pear trees and fig trees. The pecan tree had blooms but there aren't any small pecans that I can see. I plan to plant okra tomorrow.Hovannes wrote: 25 May 2024, 15:24 We had a nice harvest this morning:

Squirrels have found the pear trees. So far I've picked up 25 very small and very unripe pears off the ground.

We're on a Zucchini and cucumber overload, and I only planted two Zucchinis and one cucumber!
I used my tomato cages since this year the 'maters are trellised using concrete reinforcing mesh and t-posts (so far, so good,)
but I'm not satisfied with the tomato cages for Zucchini and cucumbers----those rascals hide and I end up with monster zooks and cucumbers.
Next year I'll build more trellises, the good lord willing and the creek don't rise.

I got two monster tomatoes, like 6" diameter monsters. They needed a wee more time to ripen so I left them on the vine one more day.
Some unholy critter got to them before I could.
It makes me wish I could cuss like Ricky Ricardo/Desi Arnaz

Watermelon, pickles, pears, and figs. Okra is getting taller but no pods so far. Tomato and pepper plants are long gone and forgotten.

Last couple of small pieces of the last watermelon.
All melon and cucumber vines have now been pulled up. Okra plants are growing. Muscadines are "currently" being harvested for jelly making. The Indians will not bother you now, on account of ... you are touched.
