Election Thread II: Kamala vs. Trump
The DNC sh*7 show in Chicago has started. The free abortion clinic set up for the convention reports being fully booked up.

Election Thread II: Kamala vs. Trump
A handful of top Democrats appeared on the sundry Sunday news shows, expressing varying degrees of support for Kamala's price control policy.
It is apparent to me that none of them actually believe this is a good idea, but they do believe that voters are dumb enough to think this is a good idea.
I have a short take on price controls:
If government could simply set all of the prices for fuel and grocery to the benefit of society, then we would have been doing this all along -- for centuries.
The fairest prices are obtained by the natural equilibrium of supply and demand in an economy of fair competition. Government's only job is to break up or regulate monopolies when they form, to maintain fair competition.
If government tries to meddle much more than this, then equilibrium is disturbed to the detriment of everyone. Chronic shortages of goods and higher prices (when you can get what you want, on a black market) are the usual result.

I saw that. Planned Parenthood has a bus clinic, and they are handing out abortion drugs. This is not only disgusting, but also very dangerous. I hope they are checking for ectopic pregnancies, but this is still shoddy healthcare. They won't be around to treat women with complications. The emergency rooms will be overwhelmed with riot injuries, as it is.Hovannes wrote: 19 Aug 2024, 06:55 The DNC sh*7 show in Chicago has started. At publishing time, Kamala had also announced plans to convert the Mall of America into a labor camp.

I'm told that Old Joe got through his speech okay. Classic "Angry Joe," insisting that he didn't get proper credit for all the things that he accomplished. It was a long list of stuff we haven't seen -- like 500,000 electric car charging stations spanning America. Fighting violent crime, like he's a superhero.
Biden claims that more children are killed by gunshots than any other cause.... Right after speaker after speaker praised their efforts to spread abortion.
Perhaps the most striking bit from Biden's speech was watching him repeat the Charlottesville "very fine people" lie yet again, while thousands of Hamas Nazis were tearing down fences outside. No mention of them.

I'm having flashbacks to the early months of the Biden re-election campaign, when pundits in the Democrat media discussed how unpopular Kamala was. They were hoping that Biden would ditch Kamala and choose a less offensive running mate, especially since Biden was getting a bit older and might not last to the end of his second term. Biden needed a credible VP if he wants to win.

I recollect that in his angry speech, Joe did mention that the Hamas sympathizers' protesting outside were good people.Del wrote: 20 Aug 2024, 06:17 .

I listened to some more clips after I made that post. Yes, he agreed that the Hamas Nazis have some good points.Hovannes wrote: 20 Aug 2024, 12:58I recollect that in his angry speech, Joe did mention that the Hamas sympathizers' protesting outside were good people.Del wrote: 20 Aug 2024, 06:17 Perhaps the most striking bit from Biden's speech was watching him repeat the Charlottesville "very fine people" lie yet again, while thousands of Hamas Nazis were tearing down fences outside. There were some Hamas protestors at the RNC convention.... Republicans told them to pound sand. That's why local businesses didn't need to board up their windows ahead of the RNC convention.
