Shoes in the street

I took this pic last January, (and may have already posted it somewhere), of a single shoe in the middle of an intersection in town. But I've been seeing shoes in the streets seemingly all year long. This evening I swerved to miss a large tennis shoe laying in the middle of an on ramp on Beltway 8 in Houston.
So, here we are nearing the end of 2024, and I'm wondering, what's it all mean?

And here our church is raising money to buy poor kids shoes when all you need to do is plant shoe seeds and they just pop up out of the ground like weeds!!

Shoes grow well in the Texas coastal regions. Wild sucker-growth is common in areas that once farmed for shoes.

It's the climate: Consistent warmth, moisture, and a low frost index.
