I just finished a generous pour of Napoleon Brandy, out on the covered patio watching the rain come down.
I don't know where the 1/2 bottle of Napoleon Brandy came from, but it was in the liquor cabinet.
I could get used to this!

What is now being called an F2 tornado, passed by here this afternoon, just to the south, luckily. The same system then headed on to Louisiana and then Mississippi, I presume close to JMGs place. Our power just came back on about 30 mins ago, and all seems well, so I'm posting here, while eating a bowl of rice chex. It's been a long afternoon. It's been a long day. Now, to play Wordle before hitting the sack.
I was in Porter and something rattled the house, but no damage. I did see reports of damage just to our north. Beast of a storm.
We drove through this system yesterday on the way back to TX. Lots of slow driving with the emergency flashers on.
Correction: The NWS is now calling it an EF-3. If it had tracked northeast instead of east at one point, it would have been right in our lap. Thank God for answered prayers, especially for no fatalities. https://kfdm.com/news/local/chilling-ph ... _campaign=
The Indians will not bother you now, on account of ... you are touched.
We just got the news from my daughter's landlord in LA.
The apartment she had to leave when she moved back home was leased to new tenants,
so I'm off the hook for the January rent.

I ushered the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin at church this morning.
I got to the church early and sat in the parking lot with the car heater going (it was chilly) until people started showing up.
A car pulls in and parks at the far end of the parking lot. The driver gets out. He's got a white cane with a red tip.
After mass I see him with his cane, carefully making his way out of the building.
What's going on here?

It seems like all the cool kids use these, but this one will be my first ever Japanese style saw.
I'm looking forward to seeing what it'll do.
