I grew up in a similar house, and have had several of my own as an adult. I'm not claustrophobic, but I never crawl under them without a good stick in my hand. Nice beams there, btw.

yeah, been there, etc. I leave the relief valve open, grab the jack with both hands if possible, and lift it up, pushing the jack screw back in manually sort of. Otherwise stick a pry bar under the base and pry up, or just dig it out like John did. Fun times with pier and beam.

We've taken delays because our line mechanics got the jack stuck after changing a wheel and tire assembly. I fix airplanes from a desk now, but I've changed many tires on a 767.
