There's an app for that.

And by "app" I mean a tool. Kreg makes a fantastic jig that makes it a breeze to quickly and consistently position and install handles/pulls on cabinets and drawers.

I have one of said tools by another manufacturer. Pay special attention to setup, measure 3 times, be rewarded with great results.
